Ooo....ho..o...
(Jeehale muskin main kun baranjis
Behaal hijra bechaara dil hai) -2
(Sunai deti hai jiski dhadkan
tumhaara dil ya hamaara dil hai)-2
(Vo aake pahlu main aise baithe) -2
Ki shaam aur rangeen ho gayi hai
Ki syaam rangeen ho gayi hai
Ki shyaam rangeen ho gayi hai
(Zara zara si khili tabiyat
zara si gumgeen ho gayi hai)-2
Zihaale muskin ....
sunai deti hai ....
(Ajeeb hai dil ke dard)-2 yaaron
(Na ho to mushkil hai jeena iska) -2
(Jo ho to har dard ek heera Har ek gam hai nageena iska)-2
Zihaale muskin ....
sunai deti hai ....
(Kabhi kabhi shaam aise dhalti hai
Jaise ghoonghat utar raha hai, utar raha) -2
(Tumahre seene se uthta dhuaan
hamaare dil se guzar raha hai) -2
Zihaale muskin ....
sunai deti hai ....
Yeh sharm hai ya haya hai,
kya hai(Nazar uthate hi jhuk gayi hai) -2
(Tumhari palkon se gir ke shabnam
hamari aakhon main ruk gayi hai) -2
Zihaale muskin ...
.sunai deti hai ....
zihaal-e-miskeen mukon ba-ranjish,
bahaal-e-hijra bechara dil hai
zihaal = notice
miskeen = poor
mukon = do not
ba-ranjish = with ill will,
with enimity
bahaal = fresh,
recenthijra = separation
Thus the meaning is: Notice the poor (heart), and do not look at it (heart) with enimity.
It (heart) is fresh with the wounds of separation.
In Hindi : (and more clearly):
Ye dil judaai ke gamo se abhi bhi taaza hai.
Iski bechaargi ko ba-ranjish (without enimity) dekho.
Hope this lovely song will be thus now be understood by all the fans and listeners of this song, who in their youth and childhood, have always been fascinated towards this beautiful composition by Gulzar saab
& about the language of first two lines,
they are written in Persian language.
The same language which Mirza Ghalib also used to write ghazals,whom we recite till today!!
The phrase "Zihaal-e-miskeen"comes from a poem of Amir Khusro.
This original poem of Amir Khusro is a unique masterpiece.
The beautiful thing about this poem is that it is written in Persian and Brij bhasha simultaneously.
The first line is in Persian, second in Brij bhasha, third in persian, and so on...!!
What an unbelievable talent!!
And here are first four lines ofthat poem.
zihaal-e-miskeen mukon taghaful (Persian)
doraaye nainaan banaye batyaan (Brij)
ke taab-e-hijraah nadarum-e-jaan (Persian)
na laihyo kaahe lagaye chatyaan (Brij)
