Ah! You are so far away,

It almost feels unreal,

That I can love you so,

But you are nowhere near!

Yet, in my memories,

You'll always be mine ---

When I remember our love,

Only tenderness will shine!

With my slowly growing self

I still hide a light ---

That burns inside in me

And does not know no freight!

Go away my Beloved,

Forever denied to me

But make a happy life,

For the entire world to see!

This is my last farewell

In my silent thoughts,

A bow to our memories

A veil on our love!
