what can we say about Asha ji ? So much has been said already.
She still enthralls us with the verve and superb rendition of her classics like ...

every time I hear the pathos woven into her voice it brings a lump to my throat & tears sail in my eyes ..Sigh !!

A TRUE artist's caliber has this POWER over us
-- to pull us into their ORB of emotions , both happy or sad .
The quicker any artist can leave his / or / her imprint on our mind & soul and the quicker we react to it determines the GENIUS of that ART & the artist !!
B it a painting by Rembrandt, Piccasso or a poem by Shelly or Wordsworth or a Drama by Shakespear or Kalidasa ....
they all are "alive" even after their Century & time has passed because
of their Genius.
Thus i put our dearest ASHA JI ............Equal among the above.
With her Elder Badi DIDI = Latadi ! ( whom I adore & worship )

yaa definitely she has a great voice in the era of Lada Didi...she makes the way by her own style...i hv read a Interview of O P Nayyer in The Hindu as he explore Asha Ji i was shocked--he said that she is a repititive tape.its very disturbing to find out,that if ones relation doesn't hv the desired result people can say anything.
yes .. human malice is darker then the amavas ki raat on a thundering rainy night ! :-(

leave the Great singers like ASHA ji, continue singing to bring happiness to millions who wait to hear Asha ji's melodious voice.
And even at this age, she continues to experiment and enthrall. But true, my softest corner will be always for Latadidi, but if there is a voice that I like after Latadi's then it has to be Ashaji's only!

O.P. & also RD creations gave us so many memorable ASHA ji songs.
Asha ji is a Gusty lady who has lived life as she chose to see it fit & not bothered about the norms fixed as per the old dictates.
in that sense, I'd say, Ashaji is a "True Renainssance woman " &
Latadi , I always say is " Woman of Substance " !!
