Fall turns into Winter & spring awaits ...in the wings !

Yesterday was Valentine's Day ....as it is "celebrated " by so many, the world over as a special, symbolic day to honor "LOVE" with Flowers !!
Who can dislike Flowers ? Who does not love to be "in- Love" ?
It is such a Universal theme ....so in this day of mass communication & media over drive, it was bound to spread across the Globe !
Folks have found out the Origin of Saint Valentine who was a priest in 1700 & used to secretly , unite couples into matrimony even though the King was against the soldiers marrying instead of marching off into battlefields !

Aah ! The sheer agony & ecstasy ....of romantic interludes & escapades
the stuff of Mills & Boon romanctic novels ...of my youth !

How clandestinely , romantic it sounds , even @ the turn of 21st century
So the mass merchandising by the Sale & distribution of Cards, flower bouquets, gifts of perfume & expnsive colognes & jewelery & pleasure toys herald the " first Peep" of the " Spring " as it is awaiting
....as Fall turns into a " Yesterday " & Winter into a grim " Today "...!!

FALL

Leaves are falling all around,

Make a "crunch" upon the ground;

Orange and yellow, green and red,

Change their colors when you're in bed.

Many people, so they say,

Like their colors in disarray;

Red and yellow, orange and green,

Make a lovely color scheme.

On the tree are many colors,

But on the ground

Are their brown brothers;

Green and red, orange and yellow,

Really do amaze a fellow.

WINTER

it looks like a winter post card here where i live in the staid , serene mid American city by the Ohio River which has been established in 1787 & is considered the " Gateway to Freedom " -- the Black Slave as he escaped the Rigid South found the first air of Freedom upon entering this city !

Here as i peer from my window, i see that all the bare branches of trees are covered inch by inch with pure & soft ICE !

It was the fluffy , soft kind of Snow but then Sun arose & the snow which had clung all its delicate tennacles on the bare brown branches has turned into sparkling Crystals ;-)

No one but NATURE at its best can creat such scenes !!
-- it is soooo cold outside
-- but with a masala chai in hand, it looks surreal & lovely -- Sigh !!

I await the arrival of SPRING & multitude hues of FLOWRS to Bloom forth with all its pristine Glory !!
" Life is a Merry ~ go ~ round" ........what goes up, must come down !
